She was the widow of Emerson Whitfield and a member of Courtland United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement in 1972, she had been clerk of the Southampton Co. Ct. for more than 20 years. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Virginia Vick and two nieces, Evelyn Mountford and Cynthia Vick, all of Norfolk; one nephew, Thomas E. Bass, Jr., of Ashland, Va. A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin by Rev. C.B. King. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland.
