A native of Newsoms, Va., she retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Cradock. She was predeceased by her parents, James D. Whitfield and Ruth Ferguson Whitfield; her husband, Tommy Watson Sr.; and a son, Kenneth D. Watson Sr. Survivors include two sons, S. Thomas Watson Jr. and Robert F. Watson, both of Chesapeake; and six grandchildren, Jennifer Mattauch, Alison Watson, Tracy Pae, Brad Watson, Kenneth D. Watson Jr. and Stacie Watson. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms, by the Rev. Curtis Faison. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 20 Koger Executive Center, Norfolk. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
