All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ALVIS MOORE WHITEHEAD Alvis Moore Whitehead, aged 15, son of H.C. and Letha Jane Moore Whitehead of Norfolk, died at his home on Montclair Avenue at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday after a long illness. He was a member of Campostella Methodist Church and a student at the Ruffner Junior High School. He is survived by two brothers, Hugh C. Whitehead and Calvin Russell Whitehead, of Norfolk; five sisters, Letha Gaynell, Eldred Lenora, Winifred Christine, Audrey Ailine and Barbara M. Whitehead, all of Norfolk. Services were held in the Holland Funeral Home at Franklin Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. R.I. Williams of Norfolk, assisted by the Rev. Benjamin B. Bland of Franklin. Burial was in Courtland Cemetery, pallbearers being: James Wrenn, Horace Ashe, Billy Heinmann, Kenneth Gorman, Martin Etheridge, Marion Williamson and Richard Wrenn.
