C.B. King. W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home in Franklin was in charge. Pallbearers were Marvin Whitehead, Wayne Whitehead, Stewart Whitehead, G.K. Williams Jr., W.L. Whitehead Jr., and Charles C. Jacocks. Whitehead died Nov. 4 in Patrick Henry Hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of William Thomas and Mrs. Sally Rebecca Eley Whitehead. He was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church and a retired farmer. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. S.W. Gardner of Franklin and Mrs. Otelia W. Story of Courtland; and two brothers W. Leland Whitehead and Roy R. Whitehead of Courtland.
