Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of Franklin Baptist Church. Mr. Whitehead, 77, died Sunday night in a Williamsburg hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Margaret Whitley Whitehead and a son of George H. and Mrs. Mary Ellen Whitehead. He was a native of Southampton County and a member of Nottoway Chapel. Surviving is a son, H.E. Whitehead; three sisters, Mrs. John D. Norfleet and Miss Willie R. Whitehead of Franklin and Miss Lois Whitehead of Emporia; and two grandchildren.
