Richard McNutt. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. He died Dec. 27 in Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Southampton County and the husband of the late Lucy Booth Whitehead. He was a retired farmer and a Navy veteran of World War I. He was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marionette W. Spain of Suffolk; a son, William L. Whitehead Jr. of Courtland; a sister, Mrs. Otelia W. Story of Courtland; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
