WHITLEY Mrs. Ada Coggsdale Whitley, 44, wife of Fletcher L. Whitley of Pearl Street, Franklin, died Sunday afternoon, March 23, of a heart attack while en route to a Norfolk hospital from Lake Smith. Mrs. Whitley was a member of High Street Methodist Church. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Miss Virginia Lee Whitley; two step-daughters, Mrs. Vernard Scott and Mrs. W. Hunter Scott; two stepsons, Fletcher Nurney Whitley; six step-grandchildren; three brothers, J.W. Coggsdale of Handsom and Jesse and James Coggsdale of Franklin; five sisters, Mrs. J.C. Cutchins, Mrs. Mary Duck and Mrs. John Griffin, all of Franklin, and Mrs. Gladys Babb and Mrs. Marshall Brock, both of Sedley; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services for Mrs. Whitley were conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons by Rev. James B. Douglas, pastor of High Street Methodist Church, and Rev. Tucker G. Humphries, pastor of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Luther W. Blythe, Gardner E. Cobb, Johnny Cook, Malcolm Dansey, Roy Gordon, J.L.
