Whitley, 51, was held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Black Jack Cemetery, near Como, N.C.*, by the Rev. Richard E. Cooke. Full military honors will be accorded. He died Wednesday in Margaret R. Pardee Hospital, Hendersonville, N.C. He was a native of Hertford County, N. C. and the husband of Mrs. Virginia Whitley. He was a retired, 23 year Army veteran, a Mason and a Baptist. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Margarette Green of Gates, N.C.; and three brothers, Julian F. Whitley of Sedley, William T. Whitley of Boykins and George R. Whitley of Suffolk.
