A retired merchant, he came to Courtland in 1929 from Ellsworth, Me. He was a member of Newsoms Methodist Church, also of the Masonic Lodge, Knights of Templar and was a Shriner and a member of the Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lelia Rountree Witham of Courtland, and a sister, Mrs. C.R. Burrell, of Ellsworth. Funeral arrangements had not been completed this (Friday) morning.
