Mr. Withers, a Southampton County native, worked for Barnes Lumber Co., Boykins. He was a member of Capron United Methodist Church and Indiantown Hunt Club. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Conner Withers; a daughter, Karen A. Withers; a son, Harry R. Withers, Jr.; his mother, Emma Dell L. Withers, all of Capron; and two brothers, Dandridge L. Withers of Virginia Beach and Robert R. Withers, Jr. of Capron. The funeral was conducted Saturday at Capron United Methodist Church by the Rev. D. Glen Langston. Burial was in Capron Cemetery. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin handled the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Capron Rescue Squad.
