All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JAMES CAIN WOODARD Funeral services for James Cain (Yick) Woodard, 64, who died in Norfolk Wednesday morning, were conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the graveside in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, with the Dr. Owen T. Kelly, pastor of Epworth Methodist Church, Norfolk, officiating. Mr. Woodard was a native of Branchville and had lived in Norfolk for the past 30 years. He was a hotel manager and a member of the Epworth Methodist Church, Norfolk, and a member of the Westlynn Bible class. He was a veteran of World War II. He was the son of the late James L. and Mrs. Clarine James Woodard. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Otis R. Joyner of Suffolk, one niece and one great nephew. The remains were taken to the cemetery from the McDowell Funeral Home in Boykins. Pallbearers were H.T. Smith, D. Macon Woodard, Howard Barnes, J.M. Britt, John Partridge, Allen Partridge, Edward Harrison, and J.M. Powell.
