Harold C. Lewis and the Rev. William Hudson. Pallbearers were Claude Vanderberry, H.B. Parker Jr., Jack Lucas, Dr. E.F. Reese III, Morrison Holland, B.A. Williams Jr. Harold McGrath, and John Partridge. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Jefferson Jones and Mrs. Sally Dudley Woodard and the husband of Mrs. Ida Prince Woodard. He was a member of Persons United Methodist Church, a Mason, and a Shriner. He was a former member of the Southampton County board of Supervisors. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, James D. Woodard of Courtland and Dr. Prince B. Woodard of Charleston, W.Va., and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Courtland Rescue Squad or Persons United Methodist Church.
