WILLEFORD* John Willeford, 76, died at his home in Pope on the morning of Friday, January 2, after an illness of two weeks. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Edwards Willeford, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the grave in the church cemetery at Vincent Grove, with Rev. R.H. Marks officiating, assisted by Rev. Randolph Gregory. "Abide With Me" and "Sweet Bye and Bye" were sung by the Vincent Grove church choir. Active pallbearers were Paul Camp Marks, Gordon Burgess, Lon Marks, Lee Felts, Dallas Johnson and John C. Burgess. *Williford in original corrected to Willeford throughout. John W. WILLEFORD, farmer, b. 11 Apr 1871, Southampton Co., d. 2 Jan 1948, at home, Pope, interred in Vincent's Grove Methodist Church Cemetery*, 3 Jan 1948, donated obit - posted with Find a Grave Mem. #145202508 *Unmarked? added to list. His father is also buried there.
