A native of Southampton, he was a son of Charles C. and Mrs. Nannie Barlow Wills and the husband of Mrs. Ruby Marie White Wills. He was a member of Sedley Baptist church and Woodman of the World. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles Chatman Wills of Petersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Wills Braswell of Windsor; four brothers, Charles Wills and Herman Wills of Suffolk, Clyde Wills of Williamsburg, and Marion Wills of Roanoke; a sister, Mrs. Oscar Copeland of Norfolk; the three grandchildren. A funeral service was held Monday at 2 p.m. in Sedley Baptist Church by the Rev. C.L. Gatling. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were John Bailey, Ned Wills, Elton McClenney, Roy Brooks, Frank Hayner, Alfonza Newsome, Bernard Smith and Cecil Tillery.
