All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ANNIE LAURA WILLIAMS Courtland - Miss Annie Laura Williams age 85, well beloved resident of Courtland and native of Southampton County, died at Southampton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness early Tuesday morning. She was the daughter of the late Alpheus A. and Rebecca Briggs Williams, of Southampton County. She was a member of the Courtland Methodist Church, and honorary member of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service. Surviving are three sisters; Mrs. John W. Rollison, Sr., Mrs. Will E. Edwards, and Mrs. Sam N. Cobb, all of Courtland; one brother; W.S. Williams, of Courtland; four nephews; John W. Rollison, Jr., Benjamin A. Williams, Edward L. Cobb, all of Courtland; and Rev. William A. Edwards, of Wytheville. Funeral services were held from the Courtland Methodist Church Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. by her pastor Rev. Bryon Halstead, and Rev. C.W. Gibson former pastor of Richmond. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.
