A native of Nansemond County, she was a daughter of J. Frank and Mrs. Mary Helen Porter Holland and the wife of William B. Wellons. She was a member of Sedley Baptist Church, a past president of Missionary Society, teacher of Ladies Bible Class, and a past president of Sedley Woman’s Club. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters Mrs. Willie Smith of Sedley, Mrs. Bessie Johnson of Mobjack, and Mrs. Martha Hundley of Nags Head, N.C.; a son, Harry A. Wellons of Victoria; a brother, J. Moody Holland of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. C.W. Howell and Mrs. Cifford E. Holland of Holland; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Rosemont Cemetery by the Rev. C.L. Gatling. W.J.M. Holland and sons Funeral Home has charge. Bessie (HOLLAND; Mrs. William B. Jr.) WELLONS, b.
