All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ DOROTHY LEE WILLIAMS Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Lee Williams, 78, well known resident of Franklin who died Thursday afternoon, May 23, at her home on Clay Street after an illness of several months, were conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the home. Rev. Tucker G. Humphries, pastor of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church, officiated assisted by Rev. James W. Turner, pastor of High Street Methodist Church, and Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church. Mrs. William was the wife of the late John A. Williams of Franklin and the daughter of the late Albert T. and Mary Harrison* Lee of Nansemond County. She was one of the oldest members of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church. She was also a member of the Franklin Book Club, the D.A.R. and the U.D.C. Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Everett R. Bryant and Miss Dorothy Williams, both of Franklin; and a grandson, John Everett Bryant, also of Franklin. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery and the active pallbearers were James L. Camp, Jr., John M. Camp, Dr. P.D. Camp, Jr., Dr. William T. Tucker, Frank C. Williams, W. Eldridge Smith, Harry Jones, Joe Bynum Gay, Jr., R.H. Powell, Jr., and John E. Ray, 3rd. Dorothy (LEE; Mrs. John A.)
