Williams, 86, respected farmer of the Joyner community in Southampton County, died Friday night in the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.D. Mitchell, of Emporia, after a two weeks' illness. Mr. Williams is survived by one brother, J.R. Williams of Southampton County one sister, Mrs. Polly Adams, Emporia; four daughters, Mrs. S.S. Felton, Richmond; Mrs. Mabel Wellons, Southampton County; Mrs. J.D. Wills of Sedley, and Mrs. Mitchell of Emporia; three sons, Anthoney H., George W. and Timothy L. Williams, all of Southampton County, and nine grandchildren. The body was taken to his home at Joyner Sunday afternoon and burial made in the family burying ground. Services were conducted by his Pastor, Rev. R.H. Marks, assisted by the Rev. H.C. Blackwell of Emporia Methodist Church.
