WILLIAMS, JR. DIES IN HOSPITAL. James Charles Williams, Jr., 60, retired building material dealer, died Tuesday in the Medical College of Virginia Hospital, Richmond. He was a son of James Charles and Nena Newsome Williams of Franklin and the husband of Mrs. Esther Davis Williams of Franklin. He was a member of High Street Methodist Church, a former member of Franklin Rotary Club, and a graduate of the University of Virginia. He was owner and operator of the Home Building Supply Co. in Franklin until ill health forced his retirement several years ago. Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, James Charles Williams, III of Suffolk and Edgar Davis Williams, a student at Elon College, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. H.J. Pence of Arlington; three brothers, Paul C. Williams of Richmond and Ernest N. Williams and M. Eugene Williams of Murfreesboro, N.C.; and a granddaughter. A funeral service will be conducted today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Gilliam C. Bentley of High Street Methodist Church. Pallbearers are Col. H.J. Pence, Leigh Johnson, George W. Conwell, Rupert Tart, John D. Abbitt, Herbert Lewis, Carlton Cutchins and Baird Cabell.
