A son of Mrs. Fannie Vick Futrell of Franklin and the late Claudie Williams, he was a lifelong resident of Southampton County.* Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lonie Drake Williams; a son, Gerald S. Williams of Smithfield; a daughter, Miss Rebecca Ann Williams of Newsoms; three sisters, Mrs. Bennie Grizzard and Mrs. Arthur Lee Latimer of Suffolk and Mrs. J.W. Sumner of Franklin; a brother, Rufus E. Williams of Baltimore; a half-brother, Elton Futrell, of Boykins, and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Barnes Methodist Church by the Rev. H.Warren Landis, pastor. Burial will be in Newsoms Cemetery.
