She was a lifelong resident of Sedley and the daughter of William and Mrs. Susana Davis Wellons of Southampton County. She was a member of Grace Memorial Church, Woman’s Society of Christian Service, Woman’s Christian Temperance Union and Sedley Woman’s Club. She is survived by four brothers, J.D. Wellons of Naples, Fla., and W.B. Wellons, C.L. Wellons and P.T. Wellons of Sedley, and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service was conducted Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley, by the Rev. J.H. Moreland, pastor of Grace Memorial Methodist Church and James A. Coney and Harry Wellons, ministers of the Friends Church. Pallbearers were LaVerne Wellons, Earl Burgess, Bernard Smith, Joseph Weaver, Howard Hancock and Frank Hundley.
