WILLIAMS Mr. Nathan Eldridge Williams died at his home here Sunday morning, April 7, 1918, after only a few days illness of pneumonia. He was seventy years of age. Mr. Williams was a native of North Carolina but had spent most of his life in this community where he was honored and respected by all who knew him. In a quiet, unassuming manner he discharged the duties resting upon him and was faithful to each trust. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and a consistent Christian, holding his membership with the Boykins M.E. Church where he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Sarah Ricks, four sons - L.P., B.N. R.L. and A.M. Williams; two daughters - Mrs. R.E. Ferguson and Mrs. J.E. Griffin; and eleven grandchildren, all of Southampton County. Interment was made in Beechwood cemetery Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock the services being conducted by Rev. Porter Hardy. The pallbearers were W.W. White, S.B. Drewry, J.D. Hart, W.A. Powell, J.D. Ferguson, W.G. Neblett, B.G. Ferguson and H.F. Knight.
