PEARL ELIZABETH SPIVEY WELLONS

   FRANKLIN - Pearl Spivey Wellons, 90, of the 200 block of S. High St. died 
Jan. 1 in a Richmond nursing home.

   Mrs. Wellons, a native of Southampton County, was a member of Franklin 
Baptist Church and was a widow of Floyd W. Wellons, Sr.

   Survivors include two daughters, Edna Vick of Franklin and Virginia Wellons 
of Richmond; a son, Floyd W. Wellons, Jr. of Franklin; two sisters, Ruth 
Matthews and Peggy Dalton, and a brother, Fred Spivey, all of Richmond; six 
grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

   A funeral was conducted Saturday at the Franklin Baptist Church Chapel by 
the Rev. Michael Clingenpeel and Ira Hudgins.  Burial was in the Poplar Spring 
Cemetery.  Wright Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
