All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ REBECCCA JANE JOYNER WILLIAMS Mrs. Rebecca Joyner Williams, widow of James Franklin Williams, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G.T. Hundley, of Sedley, November 4, after an illness of two weeks. She was the daughter of the late Moses and Mrs. Martha Joyner and was born at the old homestead near Courtland May 8, 1856. In December, 1876, she married James Franklin Williams and their home was established near Trinity Church. She is survived by seven children, E.H. Williams, of Smithfield, J.C. Williams of Sedley, M.L., L.L. and W. Williams of Courtland, R.J. Williams of Richmond and Mrs. G.T. Hundley of Sedley; two brothers, D.K. Joyner of Suffolk and Elijah Joyner of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. R.L. Hancock of Newport News. Mrs. Williams was a consecrated Christian, living an exemplary life daily in her quiet manner. In early life she united with Trinity Church. The burial service was held by the graveside in the family cemetery in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Roscoe Jones of Franklin and Rev. C.E. Gerringer of Wakefield. The pallbearers were: Y.C. Hundley, H.V. Thornton, G.B. Vick, T.B. Bell, William Bell, A.T. Rollings, G.R. Owen and T.W. Doyle. [Rebecca Jane (JOYNER; Mrs. James F.)
