Griffin, near Petersburg, Friday morning, June 24. The body was brought to Boykins Saturday and buried Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock in Beechwood cemetery by the side of her husband, N.E. Williams. Services at the grave were conducted by her pastor, Rev. L.R. Black, of the Methodist church, assisted by Rev. A.C. Jordan and Rev. H.P. Dalton. Despite the extreme weather a large number of relatives and friends gathered at the service to pay their last tribute of respect to one whom they loved and honored. There were many beautiful floral offerings. The deceased was 66 years of age, a native of Northampton county, N.C., tho’ the most of her life had been spent in or near Boykins. Since the death of her husband a few years ago she had made her home with her children five of whom, three sons and two daughters, survive her. These are L.P. Williams, Courtland; B.N. William, Pope; A.M. Williams, Boykins; Mrs. R.E. Ferguson, Boykins; and Mrs. J.E. Griffin, Petersburg. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters; Mr. John Ricks, Seaboard, N.C.; Mr. Crockett Ricks, Murfreesboro, N.C.; Mrs. Tom Wheeler and Miss Fannie Ricks, Rosemary, N.C. What more filling tribute to her life and character than to say that Mrs. Williams was a consecrated Christian woman? She was a faithful and loyal member of Boykins Methodist Church, a fond and loving mother, a true and sympathetic friend. Truly may it be said of her, "She hath done what she could," and the sorrowing loved ones who are grieved over her sudden departure may well emulate her worthy example. To all of these loved ones we extend our hearty sympathy. Sarah (RICKS; Mrs. Nathaniel E.)
