William Douglas Williams, Jr., 48, died in a Hopewell hospital early Tuesday afternoon after an illness of three years. He was the husband of Mrs. Senora Francis Williams and a son of the late William Douglas and Mrs. Bessie Moore Williams of Franklin. He was a native of Butterworth and a former resident of Franklin. For the last six years he had lived in Hopewell. Besides his wife, surviving are two sons, Raymond Williams and William Douglas Williams, III, both of Hopewell; two brothers, F.W. Williams and John T. Williams, both of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Underwood and Mrs. Elizabeth Foy, both of Norfolk, and his stepmother, Mrs. Kate Williams of Franklin. A funeral service was conducted at W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home today (Thursday) at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were S.A. Carr, John H. Scott, Howard Blythe, William Francis, Marion Whitfield and George W. Conwell.
