C.L. Gatling. W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were Bernard Smith, Frank Hundley, Brooks Johnston, Willie L. Wellons, Dr. Harry A. Wellons and William B. Crichton. Wellons, 82, died Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. Brooks Johnston of Mobjack. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of William and Mrs. Susanna Davis Wellons and the husband of the late Mrs. Bessie Holland Wellons. He was a former deacon and trustee of Sedley Baptist Church. Besides Mrs. Johnston, he is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Willie Smith of Sedley and Mrs. Martha Hundley of Nags Head, N.C.; a son, Harry A. Wellons of Victoria; three brothers, Jesse D. Wellons of Roanoke and Cecil L. Wellons and Paul T. Wellons of Sedley; eight grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.
