Williams died at Raiford Memorial Hospital the night of December 22, after a brief illness. He had been with Camp Manufacturing Company for more than 30 years in their sales department. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Kate Effinger Williams; two daughters, Mrs. M.D. Currier of Franklin and Mrs. J.W. Underwood; three sons, W.D. Williams, Jr., of Victoria, John T. and Frederick W. Williams of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Lucas Hobbs, and two brothers, R.E. and B.B. Williams. Funeral services were conducted from his late residence in West Franklin Tuesday afternoon, December 24, at 2 o’clock, burial following in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jas. L. Camp, Jr., John M. Camp, H.M. Frankfort, E.T. Fitzgerald, S.A. Lipscomb, Jr., W.H. (Tup) Jones, Ellsworth Jones, Prof. B.T. Watkins.
