Brittle in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Mrs. Womble, 86, died Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. in Patrick Henry Hospital after a long illness. A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of Willie L. Womble and a daughter of William and Mrs. Margaret Ann Rose Blythe. She was a member of the United Church of Christ. She is survived by one niece, Mrs. Larry Overby of Franklin; three nephews, Stanley Blythe and Nathaniel Blythe of Franklin, and Garland Blythe of Norfolk. W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home was in charge. Martha Jane (BLYTHE; Mrs. Willie L.) The burial site given on his Death Certificate, #2169, is not fully legible; "Sycamore Church" is struck. The site is not definitely known (Jul 2016) to the SCHS Cemetery Project. Martha's half-brother John is buried in a BLYTHE family cemetery on Pond Branch Rd., and unmarked graves may be there.
