All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ESTHER WALTON WOMBLE Mrs. Esther Walton Womble, 62, a native of Isle of Wight County and a resident of Norfolk for seven years, died Thursday, August 23, in a Norfolk hospital. She was the widow of Hunter G. Womble and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Norfolk. Mrs. Womble is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Grace Hartman of Norfolk; four half-brothers, Noah Joyner and Crawford Joyner of Ivor, Lonnie Joyner of Windsor and George Joyner of Suffolk; one half-sister, Mrs. Emma Berryman of Dendron; two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Holloman-Brown Funeral Home, Norfolk, with Rev. W.N. Stockberger and Rev. R.A. Richardson officiating. Burial was in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers were James Joyner, Willie Brown, Phillip Worrell, Raby Clark, Frank Clark, J.B. Lowe and W.N. Pond. Friends of the family serviced as honorary pallbearers.
