She leaves to mour their loss her husband, Mr. G.W. Winfield, a prominent citizen of Sedley; four daughters, Miss Susie Mason, Pattie Louis, and Janet Atkinson Winfeild of Sedley and Mrs. T. Maynard De Shazo of Monets: a sister, Miss Millie Mason, and a brother, Mr. George Mason, City Attorney of Petersburg. Mrs. Winfield was a woman of noble Christian character. In her home life she was a faithful and loving wife and mother, great hearted and genial. Her delight was in making others happy and her deeds of charity were many. The body was taken through the country to the former home of the deceased and interred in the family section of Field’s Cemetery near Jarrett. The funeral was held at the grave and was largely attended. The beautiful and impressive services were conducted by Rev. W.L. Burks of Courtland, assisted by Rev. E.K. Odell of Richmond. There were many lovely floral tributes. The pallbearers were Active L.R. Urquhart, J.W. Edwards, S.H. barker, G.S. Cornwell, W.F. Lewis, Sr., J.E. Butler, O.J. High, Cecil Owen, Mann Owen and Dr. Vaiden Thornton; honorary J.M. Tyus, A.J. Greene, James Conway, W.L. Williams, J.H. Boyd, Dr. T.F. Jarratt, Dr. O. C. Wright, Edgar Bass, Phillip Rogers, Clyde Wellons and J.C. Clemmons. While tender hands laid the body to rest, the host of friends who had gathered paid a last tribute of love to her who having lived the life victorious had entered the life triumphant.
