Edwin Thornton Jr. and Dr. R.E. Brittle. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Walter Bradshaw, Cedric Lowe, Bill Royster, Tom Galloway, Woodrow Johnson, H.R. Jackson, and Ronnie Whitley. Mrs. Winstead, 71, died Friday morning in a hospital. A native of Franklin County, N.C., she was a daughter of Thomas and Mrs. Lucinda Andrews Robards and the wife of Norman Clyde Winstead. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Robert O. Bradshaw and Mrs. W. Clarence Murphy of Franklin, Mrs. R.F. Kearse of Beaver Dam and Mrs. John D. Murphy of Mechanicsville; two sons, Charles L. Winstead of Franklin and T. Earl Winstead of Springfield, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. [Elizabeth (ROBARDS; Mrs. Norman C.)
