CORA WRIGHT FRANKLIN -- Mrs. Cora Byrum Coburn Wright of Portsmouth, a former resident of Franklin, died Sunday afternoon in Norfolk General Hospital. A native of Bertie County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Levy and Eugene Byrum. She was a Baptist. She is survived by one son, Leroy Coburn of Franklin; four daughters, Mrs. Libby Linton of Norfolk, Mrs. Jay Spivey of Portsmouth, Mrs. Louise Bohenstidl of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Novadine Posey of Freelandville, Ind.; and eight grandchildren, seven great-grand-children and one great-great-grandchild. A funeral service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the W.J.M. Holland Funeral Home by Dr. Ira Hudgins, pastor of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park. ****************************************************************************** CORA MINA BYRUM COBURN WRIGHT NORFOLK - A funeral service for Mrs. Cora Byrum Coburn Wright of Portsmouth and Franklin was held Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. by Dr. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were George Gardner, William Blythe, W.B. Harper Jr., J.B. Newsome, Lester Keech, Howard Blythe and Pete Dunlow. A native of Bertie County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Levy and Eugene Byrum. She was a Baptist. Surviving are four daughters; Mrs. Libby Linton of Norfolk, Mrs. Jay Spivey of Portsmouth, Mrs. Louise Bohenstiel of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Novadine Posey of Freelandville, Ind.; one son, Leroy Coburn of Franklin; eight grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
