WORRELL DIES NEAR COURTLAND Franklin, Jan. 3 - Miss Bessie Ellen Worrell, 60, well known and prominent resident of Courtland community, died Wednesday at her home near Courtland after suffering ill health for the past 18 months. Miss Worrell was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Annie Whitehead Worrell of Worrell’s Fork, Southampton County. She was a member of Vincent’s Grove Methodist Church and a life-long resident of this county. Surviving her are two sisters, Miss Annie Sue and Miss Gladys Mae Worrell, both of Courtland; two brothers Herman and Will Worrell, of Courtland; four nieces, Lucy Anne, Natalie, Helen and Patricia Worrell, and one nephew, Allen Ray Worrell, all of Southampton County. Funeral services for Miss Worrell will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the home by the Rev. J.T. Cassell, and the Rev. Otis L. Gilliam assisting. Burial will be in Courtland Cemetery.
