All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EMMA JANE SMITH JOHNSON WORRELL Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Johnson Worrell of the Boykins community, who died at 3 a.m. Thursday, March 14, were conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Clarksbury Methodist Church by Rev. David Willis, pastor of the Capron Methodist Church. Mrs. Worrell, 71, died in a Norfolk hospital after an illness of several months. She was a daughter of the late Z.T. and Mrs. Mollie Felts Smith of Southampton County, and a member of Clarksbury Methodist Church. Surviving are three sons, J. Marshall Johnson of Emporia, Dalton Johnson of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. and Clyde A. Johnson of Richmond; three daughters, Mrs. M.T. Washington of Norfolk, Mrs. E.P. Moore of Richmond and Mrs. Zeb Pendergrass of Rainelle, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, George T. Smith of Emporia; and a number of nieces and nephews. Burial was in Capron Cemetery and the active pallbearers were Luther Edwards, Richard Banty, Maynard Banty, Richard Ricks, R.E. Ricks, Herbert Francis, Franklin Ricks and Pat Griffith.
