All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EMMETT FLETCHER WORRELL Emmett Fletcher Worrell, 74, well-known farmer of Boykins, died Wednesday morning, May 26, at Lakeview Hospital, Suffolk, after a short illness. Mr. Worrell was the husband of Mrs. Mary Ricks Worrell and son of the late James and Emaline Ferguson Worrell of Southampton County. Besides his wife he survived by three daughters, Mrs. J.B. Ferguson of Boykins, Mrs. C.K. Hardison of Snead’s Ferry, N.C., and Miss Lucy Worrell of Franklin, a son, Howard Worrell of Boykins; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Essie Ricks of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. The body remained at the Holland Funeral Home here until Wednesday* morning, when it was taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ferguson. Funeral services for Mr. Worrell were conducted Wednesday* afternoon at three o’clock by the Rev. H.B. Jennings of Drewryville, assisted by the Rev. N.B. Habel of Boykins. Interment was in the cemetery at Newsoms.
