JOHN QUINCE WORRELL 

  NEWSOMS - A funeral service for John Q. Worrell, 83, of Newsoms, was held 
Friday at 3 p.m. in the McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, by the Rev. Harry 
Bunch and the Rev. Kenneth Williams.

  Pallbearers were Johnny Worrell, Manley Worrell, Charles Kirkland, Jr., 
James M. Worrell, Jr., Guy Pope Rountree Jr., Dale Kirkland and Kenny Cooke.

  Worrell was a native of Southampton County and was the husband of the late 
Mrs. Lillian Cook Worrell.

  He was a son of James Henry and Mrs. Mary Ann Pope Worrell.

  He was a merchant, farmer and farm equipment and agriculture products dealer.

  Worrell was a member of the Newsoms United Methodist Church.

  Surviving are a son, James Milton Worrell, Sr. of Newsoms; one sister, Mrs. 
C.Q. Ferguson of Newsoms; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
