A native of Hertford County, N.C., he was a son of William Roscoe and Mrs. Nannie Jordan Worrell. He was a member of Buckhorn Baptist Church. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Porter of Newsoms, with whom he made his home, and Miss Mary Worrell of Como, N.C.; and four brothers, John Worrell of Franklin and W. Fletcher Worrell, Rufus N. Worrell and Wallace M. Worrell of Como. A funeral service was conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. L.F. Smith, former pastor of Newsoms Baptist Church. Burial was in Newsoms Cemetery with Rev. Ben Ussery of Boykins Baptist Church conducting the committal services. Pallbearers were John Q. Worrell, Jack C. Bunn, James H. Porter, Dr. J.J. Grizzard, W.F. Worrell, Jr., Pete Barrett, John Wesley Drake and Marvin Worrell.
