On Saturday night, October the twentieth, James H. Worrell, Jr., after a short illness, passed into eternity. He wasa critically ill only a short while, and his death was a shock to the people of Newsoms. His funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon by his pastor, Rev. W.R. Evans, and his intimate friend, Rev. L.F. Paulette. The casket and grave was covered with beautiful and exquisite autumn flowers. Big-hearted James Worrell will be greatly missed. He was kind, courteous, cheerful, loyal, big of body and heart - "A Christian Gentleman." For many years he was a devoted member of the Methodist church at Newsoms, and for quite awhile a member of the official body, and secretary of the Sunday school. He allowed nothing to conflict with his duties to his church and Sunday school. He leaves a wife and little daughter, father, mother, brothers, and sisters and a large circle of devoted friends.
