Holland of this town, and accompanied by Dr. W.T. McLemore of Courtland. It seems that Mr. Worrell was operating a tractor in building up the approaches to the bridge on the Courtland-Emporia highway when the shovels of the scraper which the tractor was pulling became caught and as additional power was applied the tractor reared up in front, overturning and crushing the young man’s body. He was given immediate first-aid treatment at Courtland by Dr. McLemore and rushed to Suffolk but died on the way at Carrsville. Mr. Worrell was the son of J.T. Worrell, who lives at the intersection of the Boykins and Emporia highways two miles west of Courtland, and was highly regarded by all who knew him. His mother died only a few months ago and besides his father he is survived by three brothers, Herman, William, and Maynard Worrell. Funeral services and interment were held at the home yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. H. Fielding of Capron conducting the rites.
