All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MAYNARD ALLEN WORRELL MAYNARD WORRELL DIES; FARMER OF COURTLAND Courtland, Aug. 19 - Maynard Allen Worrell, 54, well-known farmer and former employee of the State Highway Department for the Courtland District, died Friday night at Raiford Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Worrell was the husband of Mrs. Lucy Applewhite Worrell, of Courtland, and son of the late James Thomas and Annie Whitehead Worrell, of Southampton County. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of Vincent Grove Methodist Church. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Allen Ray Worrell, a daughter, Patricia Anne Worrell, both of Courtland; two brothers, Willie and Herman Worrell of Courtland; three sisters, Misses Annie Bessie and Gladys Worrell, all of Courtland. The body was taken to the funeral home of W.J.M. Holland and Sons in Franklin where funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will be Courtland Cemetery.
