J.J. WORRELL Mrs. Minnie Crethy Worrell, age 26, wife of Jesse James Worrell died Monday night, August 26 in Parrish Memorial Hospital, Portsmouth, after an illness of two weeks. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the home of Mrs. Worrell’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Gray of Newsoms conducted by Rev. J.K. Holman, assisted by Rev. F.B. Handley of Boykins. Miss Edith Pope sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and a quartette sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Asleep in Jesus." Active pallbearers were Hugh Vincent, Luther Gray, George Cook, George Bradshaw, John W. Drake, J.C. Bunn and Ernest Cogsdale and J.Q. Worrell. Interment was made in Newsoms Cemetery. Mrs. Worrell is survived by her husband, two small daughters, Jean Murrell and Jewel Vincent, her parents, three sisters, Mrs. T.B. Smith of Boykins, Mrs. Newbern Ellis and Miss Pauline Gray and one brothers, Mark Gray, all of Newsoms. Minnie Crethy (GRAY; Mrs. Jesse J.)
