CLARA V. YATES Mrs. Clara Vaden Yates, wife of George Herbert Yates, died at the residence in Courtland on Sunday morning, March 16, after a long illness. A member of the Courtland Methodist Church, she participated in its activities until her illness prevented. She is survived by her husband. Funeral services for Mrs. Yates were conducted Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & sons by the Rev. C.W. Gibson, pastor of the Courtland Methodist Church. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harwood Babb, T.B. Bell, Leroy Bryant, L.A. Clements, Aubrey Lankford, H.B. McLemore, Jr., Leroy Majette and O.H. Poates.
