It's reasonable to assume his parents were born in Southampton Co. as well. 
   They were married there, both their father's estates were there, and Allen 
   bought 18 acres there from his brother-in-law Henry D. BAILEY in 1851.

His mother's name appears as Dianna W. in the 1850 Census, but it is usually 
   given as Diza, Dizey, and similar spellings. 

Presuambly buried in a family cemetery, but the location is not known 
   to the Southampton County Historical Society {SCHS}, 
   Cemetery Project. (Jul 2013) 

The informant is his first-born son Robert 'Allen' RAIFORD.  He is buried in 
   Poplar Spring Cemetery (Annex 3, Section B, Plot 68A), Franklin.

His first wife's name was also variable.  Her first name usually appears as 
   some version of Juniatta, but her obit & death certificate both give 
   Jeanette.  Her maiden name shifted from BRISTER to BRISTOW.
