Interred in the PRETLOW family cemetery, at "Beechwood," the homeplace of 
Gov. Colgate W. Darden, Jr.- renamed "Jerico" in 1998. 

Dr. Thomas Newby WHITE (1856-1918) married William's 1st cousin 
Jane Denson PRETLOW (1874-1957)- both also buried there, as are William's 
parents and sisters.

Dr. William H. SUMMERELL was married in 1845 to Margaret Eleanor PRETLOW, 
   by Benj. DEVANY.  Marriage bond dated 4 Jan 1845. 
   (Southampton Co. M.Reg. 1750-1853, pp. 543, 718) 

Dr. SUMMERELL died of yellow fever in 1864, and his surviving children were
