SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Ann Applewhite, 3 Feb 1795 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Ann Applewhite being weak of body but of sound mind do make & ordain this to be my last will & testament, to wit: I lend unto my son William Applewhite my three slaves: George, Will & Isabel until my son Thomas Applewhite arrives to the age of twenty one years at which time or perriod I give and devise the aforesaid slaves to my said son Thomas Applewhite to him & his heirs forever, provided he, the said Thomas, does faithfully and punctually pay within twelve months after his arrival to the aforesaid age of twenty one, the sum of one hundred pounds, which said money I direct to be divided into six equal parts & give to my daughter Mary Barham twenty pounds, to my three sons: John, Hardy & William Applewhite twenty pounds each & to the four children of Jesse Cooper twenty pounds to be in equal divisions of said children. Item: I give & desire the remainder of my estate of what kind or quallity whatsoever or wheresoever found to be equally divided amongst my eleven children, vizt: John, Hardy, Benjamin, William & Thomas Applewhite, my five sons; Mary Barham, Sally Dasheil, Priscilla Jordan, Jean Applewhite, Rebecca Applewhite & Nancy Applewhite, my six daughters. Lastly, I appoint son John Applewhite Executor of this my Last Will & Testament.
