I desire that my Executors hereafter Named do have my estate immediately appraised after my decease as the law directs_ 2nd. I lend to my wife Tabitha Bishop two hundred dollars Vallue(sic) of my estate of whatever kind she my said wife may chose(sic), the residue of my estate I desire should *-* and out of the money arising from such all of my just debts and funeral Expenses be paid. 3dly. I desire that the remaining part of my estate after the Complyance with the above proportions be subject to the support and schooling of my children. 4thly. I desire that my Executors hereafter named may at any time when ever they have the oportunity(sic) apply the whole or any part of my estate to the purchase of a tract of land for my said wife and all Childring(sic) hereafter named to live on. 5thly. I desire that at the marriage or decease of my said wife that the whole of my estate of every kind be equally divided among my several Children to wit_ William H. Bishop Martha A. Bishop Edwin W. Bishop Emma B. Bishop and be enjoyed by these my Children and their heirs forever_ Lastly I do hereby Constitute and appoint my friends Jacob Barnes and John Rawls Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills or testaments by me heretofore made in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 21st day of August in the year of our Lord 1000 eight hundred and thirteen. John Bishop (seal) Signed sealed published and } declared as and for The last will } and testament of the above named } John Bishop in Presents(sic) of us} John Jardan } Lemmey Council } At a court held for the County of Southampton this (blank) day November 1813 This will was presented in Court by the Executors therein named proved by the oaths of John Jardan and Lemuel Council the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded, the Executors named in the will refusing to qualify in open Court to take upon themselves the burthen of the Execution thereof. Therefore on the motion of Tabitha Bishop for administration with the will annexed of said John the same is granted her upon her giving bond and security and qualifying according to law whereupon &c_ --not signed by clerk--- Transcriber notes: 1) Item 2nd at point "*-*" is missing words, probably "be sold" 2) Interesting point: After John died Tabitha married a Lemuel Council, could be the same one that witnessed the will.
