All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ David BUNN Sr., will dated 2 Oct 1779, proved 11 Nov 1779 In the Name of God Amen, I David Burn of Southampton County & the parrish of Notoway being Sick & weak of body but of Sound & perfect Sence & memory & Calling to mind the uncertainty of Life & that it is appointed for all men once to die do think proper to make Constitute & Ordain this my last Will & Testament in Manner & form following to wit, Item, I give unto my Son David Burn two Shillings & Six pence Currt. Money of Virginia to him & his heirs forever. Item, I give the Lawfull heir of my daughter Martha Wheelis two Shillings & Six pence Curr.t Money of Virginia to him & her heirs forever. Item, I give to my daughter Elizth. Masons lawfull heir two Shillings & six pence to their heirs forever. Item, I give to my daughter Rebaca Vaughn two Shillings_& Six pence to her & her heirs forever. Item, I give to my daughter Mary Councill two Shillings & Six pence to her & her heirs forever. Item, I give to the lawfull heir of my Son Samson Burn two Shillings & Six pence to them & their heirs forever. Item, I give to my Son Hardy Burn two Shillings & Six pence to him & his heirs forever Item, I lend to my loving Wife my Negro woman Named Hannah & my negro woman Named Leah to my sd. wife Patience Burn during her natural life & after her death the sd. two Negroes & their Increase to be equally divided between my two daughters Ann Burn & Sarah Councill to them & their heirs forever. Item, I give to my daughter Ann Burn One Negro Girl Named Milly to her & her heirs forever. Item, I give to my loving Wife Patience Burn One Negro Girl Named patt to her & her heirs forever. Item, I give all the remainder part of my Estate After my wifes decd. to be equally divided between my two daughters Ann Burn & Sarah Councill to them & their heirs forever Lastly I do hereby Nominate & Ordain my son in law Cutchin [sic; Scutchings] Councill my whole & sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament Revoking all other Will or Wills heretofore made by me in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Affixed my seal this 2d. day of October One thousand Seven hundred & seventy Nine his Signed Sealed & delivered} David + Burn *Seal* in presence of . . . } mark Tho.s Lankford At a Court held for the County of Southampton Shed Lewis the 11th. day of Novm. 1779 This Will was Joseph Mountfortt Cutchin Councill the Executor therein named & proved by the Oaths of Cutchin Councill & Joseph Mountfortt the Witnesses thereto & Ordered to be Recorded And on the motion of the sd. Executor who made oath according to law Certificate is granted him for obtaining a Probat in due form Giving Security whereupon &c Saml.
