All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Southampton County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Wills & Estates Patience (Mrs. David Sr.) BUNN, will dated 5 Nov 1779, proved 11 Nov 1779 In the Name of God Amen, I Patience Burn of the County of Southampton Virginia being weak of body but of Sound perfect & disposing mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality & uncertainty of this transitory life knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do think pro- =per to make this my Last Will & Testament in Manner & form following to wit. 1.st I desire my just debts May first be paid & discharged. 2.d I Give devise & bequeath to Grand daughter Edith Councill one Negro Girl named Patt to her & her heirs; Confirming this to be my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof the said Patience Burn hath hereunto Set her hand & Seal this Fifth day of Novm. One Thousand Seven hundred Seventy & Nine Signed Sealed published pronounced and delivered by the said Patience Burn to be her last Will & Testament her Patience X Burn ĪSealĪ In presence of us} mark Joseph Mountfortt} At a Court held for the County of Southampton the Shadrach Lewis } 11th. day of Novm. 1779 This Will was proved by the oath of Joseph Mountfortt & Shadrach Lewis the Witnesses thereto & Ordered to be Recorded.
