A transcription of the deed (DB3:161-62) is posted at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/southampton/deeds/03db161.txt It is not clear from the records how Britain BRITT became the acting executor [the Order Books are missing], but it is likely due to Benjamin buying his father's land. Benjamin bought the entire 175-acre tract 9 Feb 1791 from Britain BRITT, acting executor of John's will.
